Formulation and Delivery Europe is where advanced pharmaceutics, delivery science and AI-enabled development converge to take a promising molecule and turn it into a real drug product. Over 1,000 senior scientists, formulation leaders and technology innovators from pharma, biotech and advanced technology platforms. Two days in Berlin focused on the science that gets candidates to clinic.

What the Programme Covers

The full formulation and delivery value chain, from the moment a molecule needs to become a medicine to the point it reaches a patient.

The programme is designed so that a formulation scientist, a CMC leader, a delivery technologist and a device developer each find the sessions that speak directly to their work. And then cross into each other's tracks for the sessions that connect them.

What to Expect in 2026?

The programme reflects where the field is right now, not where it was five years ago.

RNA and oligonucleotide delivery gets its own dedicated track on Day 2, reflecting the pace of investment in these modalities and the formulation and delivery challenges that still need solving. A closed-door session on advancing oligonucleotide delivery runs for senior leaders outside the main programme.

Brain-targeted drug delivery for neurodegenerative therapies is the subject of a dedicated closed-door session on Day 1, connecting directly with the neuroscience programme co-located across the hall. The Blood-Brain Barrier is a shared thread across both programmes: the same target, approached from discovery, formulation and delivery simultaneously.

Two featured sessions anchor the programme around the conversations the industry most wants to have. Cracking Oral GLP-1 on Day 1 addresses one of the most commercially significant formulation challenges in pharma right now. Smart Device Development on Day 2 brings device and formulation science together in the same room.

AI enters formulation science directly, through AI-driven formulation modelling, developability prediction and digital QbD.
The question on the programme is not whether AI belongs in this field. It is how far it has already gone.

Confirmed speakers from AstraZeneca, Johnson and Johnson Innovative Medicine, Novartis, AbbVie, Roche, Regeneron, Bicycle Therapeutics, Immunocore, Merck, Pfizer, UCB, Silence Therapeutics, Entos Pharmaceuticals and leading academic and research institutions.

Two closed-door sessions run for senior leaders outside the main programme. Brain-Targeted Drug Delivery for Neurodegenerative Therapies on Day 1, and Advancing Oligonucleotide Delivery on Day 2.

Three Day 1 roundtables cover patient-centric drug products, New Approach Methodologies and alternative routes of administration for biologics beyond IV.

How it Works

The programme runs across three simultaneous tracks on each day, designed so attendees can follow a single scientific thread or move across modalities as the agenda demands.

400 pre-arranged one-to-one meetings are scheduled across both days during morning coffee, lunch and afternoon breaks, shared across the co-located Drug Discovery Europe programme. Each meeting is confirmed in advance. Delegates select who they want to meet from a fully profiled list and only confirmed acceptances appear in their schedule.

The event is co-located with Drug Discovery Europe, running simultaneously in the same venue. Delegates from both programmes share the exhibition, the networking lounge and the meeting system, and are welcome to attend sessions across both agendas.
