Biomarkers, CDx & Precision Medicine 2026
Congress Centre Basel, Switzerland
Computational Pathology, AI & Precision Diagnostics
PART OF BIOMARKERS, CDx & PRECISION MEDICINE
13 - 14 October 2026 | Congress Centre Basel, Basel, Switzerland
The Computational Pathology, AI & Precision Diagnostics programme takes the European precision medicine decision chain through to deployment: foundation models for biomarker discovery, AI in pathology workflows, computational biomarker analysis, AI-enabled stratification, and the regulatory journey for AI/ML-based diagnostics. The new personalized healthcare track then frames this around the patient themselves.
Across two days, the programme runs three dedicated computational pathology tracks, designed to plug directly into the wider AI, data and multi-omics work happening on the same floor through the co-location with NextGen Omics, Tech & Data.
Day 1 leads on methods, with the computational pathology AI track and Günter Schmidt of AstraZeneca moderating the AI in Precision Medicine Collaboration Hub.
Day 2 leads on application, with the track on computational pathology in pharma research and precision diagnostics.
The new personalized healthcare track then frames this around the patient themselves.

Computational Pathology Hackathon
The Computational Pathology Diagnostic Solution Hackathon will bring together clinicians, pathologists, AI experts, pharma biomarker teams, diagnostics partners, and regulatory stakeholders to develop practical computational pathology diagnostic solutions for real-world biomarker and clinical decision-making challenges. Focusing on 5 key questions, teams will have the chance to collaborate and discuss these challenges before providing a 10 minute presentation, with winners announced by our judges on the day.

Day 1 opens with the cross-track conversation on AI for precision medicine, including Günter Schmidt (VP Image Data Sciences, Computational Pathology, AI for Science Innovation, AstraZeneca) moderating the AI in Precision Medicine Collaboration Hub on managing risk, ethical considerations, regulatory compliance and integration into existing systems.
Plus sessions on computational biomarker analysis, AI/ML deployment in clinical pathology workflows, foundation models for tissue analysis, and the integration of computational pathology with biomarker, CDx and multi-omics programmes happening alongside through the co-located NextGen Omics, Tech & Data event.
The new Precision Biomarkers & Personalized Healthcare track frames how advancements in pathology are benefiting the patient with Daniel Truhn (Dresden) looking at agentic AI in the clinic, Johan Lundin (Helsinki) focusing on predictive AI tools for decision support and clinical outcomes and then a closing panel on implementation of AI in diagnostics.
